City of Danville 07/07/2022 In a medical malpractice case against a physician who treated the patient in a city's adult detention center, the circuit court did not err in concluding that the doctor was entitled to the protection of derivative sovereign immunity as an employee and agent of the governmental body, and that the allegations of gross negligence were insufficient as a matter of law. The judgment dismissing the case on sovereign immunity grounds is affirmed.
