2026 general election deadlines (verified statewide records)

Statewide voter-registration, mail-ballot, early-voting and Election Day deadlines for the November 3, 2026 general election that VoteFiles verified against preserved official source pages with a later court-order check. Only records inside their current review window are included; a missing category means no official record has been verified yet, not that no deadline exists.

What you may reuse

Works of the United States government are in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. section 105, and dates and vote totals are facts of the public record. State election pages are linked row by row to the authority that published them. Reuse of the compiled files is governed by the Vote Files Terms of use; underlying U.S. government records are public domain (17 U.S.C. 105). Please cite the official source for each fact and Vote Files for the compilation.

Citations

Permanent citation IDs

Every bill, roll-call vote with an official digital record, executive order with a Federal Register or National Archives record, and verified election deadline has a citation ID built from its official identifier. The ID never changes. Its permanent page, https://votefiles.com/cite/{citation-id}, gives the fact, the official source, the date Vote Files last checked it, and AP, APA, Chicago, BibTeX and plain-link citations. Add ?format=json for the same record in machine-readable form.
