United States 10/14/2021 In response to a question of Virginia law certified from United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, accepted pursuant to Article VI, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia and Rule 5:40, it is decided that -- under Virginia common law -- an individual can be convicted of robbery by means of threatening to accuse the victim of having committed sodomy, if the accusation of sodomy involves a crime against nature under extant criminal law.
