• County canvass deadline: Nov 24, 2026 (21st day after the election). (Ohio Rev. Code § 3505.32(A): official text) The statute: “The board shall complete the canvass not later than the twenty-first day after the day of the election.” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
• State certification deadline: By Dec 4, 2026 at the latest (not later than 10 days after the Secretary of State receives Form No. 2 abstracts from every county, which itself must follow the county canvass completion deadline of Nov 24, 2026). (Ohio Rev. Code § 3505.35(A): official text) The statute: “the time fixed shall not be later than ten days after such abstracts have been received by the secretary of state from all counties” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
• Recount request deadline: Within 5 days after the applicable board (county, district, or Secretary of State) declares the results of the election (event-triggered; not a fixed calendar date). (Ohio Rev. Code § 3515.02: official text) The statute: “the application for recount shall be filed within five days after the day upon which the board of elections of such county declares the results of such election” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
• Election contest filing deadline: Within 15 days after results are ascertained and announced (or within 10 days after recount results are announced, if a recount occurred) — event-triggered, not a fixed calendar date. (Ohio Rev. Code § 3515.09: official text) The statute: “within fifteen days after the results of any such nomination or election have been ascertained and announced by the proper authority, or if there is a recount, within ten days after the results of the recount” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
• Ballot receipt and cure deadlines: Regular absentee ballots: must be delivered to the board by close of polls on Nov 3, 2026 (no post-Election-Day receipt). UOCAVA (uniformed services/overseas) ballots: received through the 4th day after the election (Nov 7, 2026) are counted if the identification envelope was signed by close of polls Nov 3, 2026..
